Begin Building a Bobber! Our Narrow Gauge Boxcar has been viewed by hundereds. More than a few believed they were seeing or in a “old boxcar” that we had restored! We hope our ”bobber” caboose design receives the same response. Our design will hopefully look like a vintage original but it is truly unlike any known original differing in length, width and height. We decided to build two “Bobber” style cabooses with an interior length of 16 feet and a overall length of about 20 feet including platforms. Our decision was based on requests for something a “little smaller” than our boxcar. The materials and construction methods we used required a custom trailer design. Installation of sub flooring follows over insulation. Chi and Ed pose between the “V” for victory formed after primary framing is raised. Interior of fully framed bobber caboose without coupla. Like the originals our bobber cabooses feature round corner posts! (Read more!)
